sparx ignition

I have a 1972 Daytona with a Sparx ignition The bike ran fine for the first 350 miles. Then all of the sudden it began to spit and spudder and stopped running. It appears to have spark but I'm not sure about the timing(don't know that could change}. Spark could be intermediate? The spark plugs are black. Anyone with experience with a Sparx Ignition troubleshooting.

On the face of it, one would suspect the EI. Go online and check their troubleshooting guide, and follow this.

Are you sure you fastened the backing plate securely after strobing it?

Change your plugs, they may be fouled.
