I just started to build my 67 daytona 500. I hate to say it but I have no clue on how to rebuild a small engine. If someone could help me out with a name and contact info for a reliable rebuilder i would be thank ful. Not that it matters but I live in Oregon and would like a shop close, but I dont mind shipping the engine. thanx

I don't know anybody specific, but Oregon seems to have a pretty healthy vintage bike community. The whole northwest seems to be where old machinery of all kinds migrates to eventually!

You can try European Motorcycles in Redmond, WA, if you can't find anybody closer. I don't know anything about him except that he exists.

Dear Lunatic: Man, I've always wanted to say that! I'll just have to say it again. Dear Lunatic, if you don't mind shipping your engine, I'd recommend Don Nevins as a mechanic! He's a great mechanic who specializes on old Brit bikes and he's honest and laid back. I've always found him very forthcoming with information and easy to deal with. Don works out of the same facility as Randy Baxter of Baxter Cycle and Randy deals in old Brit bikes and parts all over the world, so parts should not be a problem if you need any for the rebuild. They are located in Marne Iowa. Don's number is (712) 781- 2451. Hope this helps! Good Luck.
