Hi all,

I'm a newbie to your forum. I have a '71 Triumph TM-25 Scrambler in my basement which is in the middle of restoration... I say middle, because it is completely in boxes. It's an oil in frame design and I have almost enough parts for two engines but everything needs rebuilding. I have the original owners manual and a repair manual for it so I believe it is possible. It has only ever been a time issue.
So now my folks are pressing me to do something with it so I figured I should ask some experts.
Is this bike worth anything? Should I sell it for someone else to restore? Should I build it complete and then sell it? Will I gain any value for a full restoration with a new paint or powder coating?

Thanks,
Jason

Don't expect to get more than $1,000.00 for it IF YOU FIND SOMEONE WHO REALLY NEEDS CERTAIN PARTS.

Otherwise, you might get a few hundred if you haul the boxes of parts to a half-dozen swap meets.

A restored example of that bike won't fetch more than $2,500 on a GOOD day. Your boxes of parts would easily take 2/3 that amount in labor to assemble, and I guarantee you don't have the parts to build two engines, even without seeing the boxes. Unless, miraculously, you have the parts book and each individual part labelled and cross-referenced as present and accounted for (not nearly likely).

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but that is the extrme probability in a nutshell.
