Anyone know how to ground the condensor pack? My wiring diagram shows that it should be grounded and my new wiring harness has a red ground wire that comes out with the two wires that plug into the condensor pack. My harness has a spade connector but my condensor only has two spades to hook into. Can I change the spade connector and ground it to the bolt holding the condensor to the frame?

O.K. Quag,

Here's how it looks on mine; the red wire, if we're talking about the same one, grounds to a screw on the bracket that holds the under tank front reflector on the left (clutch lever) side. The condenser pack seems to have only the two wires that go on the spade connectors and the whole assembly bolts to the frame. The frame is the ground for the bike so I guess that's it. By the by (how is the countess?...Three Stooges), there is a spade connector that screws to the reflector bracket so that the red wire can be connected. Now I'm not sure how your harness looks, and there's another ground on the right side, but that may be for something else. My parts and service manuals, both factory or factory repro, aren't too clear on that subject.

That's the best I can do with my "floaters" in the way: Jim

thanks for your help Jim. In my not so infinate wisdom, it seemed to me that anything red should be grounded to the frame. I wasn't sure if the ground should be close to the part being grounded. (kind of sounds like a 'who's on first' statement!)
