Replacement Wiring Harness - 69 T120

Bought a new wiring harness, cloth type with stock color wiring, but I'm confused with the wiring diagrams in the Haynes book. It mentions DU..... to Du....... How do I find the correct diagram for this bike?

It would help if we knew your bike frame serial number.
The DUxxxxx numbers are just that.
A 1969 bike could have been manufacrured in 1968 or 1969.
Seasons run from Sept. to Sept.

Hi gailarry,

DU66246, as shown in the caption of Fig. H31 in my manual, references 1968. My Triumph Workshop Manual is for 1963 – 1970 and I think the 1968 diagram should work for your year as it is the latest schematic available in the manual. Here is a engine number dating reference.

My workshop manual does not show the oil pressure relief valve wiring but the 1969 owners manual that the PO of my bike gave me shows the red/green wire. I can scan the page and post the image if you like. Let me know. It has been a lingering mystery in the back of my mind why the PO had a 69 owners manual for a 70 model.

I just obtained a new loom for my 1970 (built in December of 1969). Upon comparing the original to the new, I thought the new one was missing a green/red and green/white wire. These terminated in bullet connectors at the rear fender and headlight and were connected to nothing. I found these in a schematic for a 1971 and they are for indicators but the US 1970 was not fitted with indicators nor are the wires shown in the schematic for that year.

Henry

BC is February 1969. The frame number given does not seem to be correct. Which side of the frame is this on? Are these raised, cast letters or stamped? It's the stamped ones you should be looking for. From 63 on, frames were stamped with a two-letter prefix. The frame number is stamped on the left side of the frame.

Left side of the frame but a lot of coats of paint obscure the letters.

Presumably yours is an export model.
So I think the wiring diagram on page 140 of Haynes is the one.
The numbering system changed in 1969.

I'm currently working on my 67 T120 - which uses the same diagram here. I bought the bike from a guy who didn't use a stock wiring harness and did his own circuit just to get the bike running with no headlight, tail light, etc. I've since replaced all the wiring w/ a stock harness and got everything powered up but ran into some trouble. I think my condenser might be bad.

However, I can't tell which wires are which (all the same color) - so can someone tell me where the Alternator wires come from that should be connected to the Rectifire?
