Hollow dowel tappet Oil feed

I hope this doesn't sound like a dumb question but I am rebuilding the bottom end of my 1974 T140 V and obviously being careful putting it back. However, my parts manual calls for 2 hollow dowel tappet oil feeds 70-.5032 I can see where one is located on the top of the crankcase and obviously slots into the barrels but where is the other one located?

No, not a dumb question. There is only one.

Removal of Dowels

To add to this dowel discussion, how do you remove one of these? And can you reuse it or is a new one required? Thanks.

They are pressed in and have an interference fit. They can be carefully removed with a pair of pliers or vise grips. I usually find a drill bit or metal rod that will fit snugly inside to keep them from being crushed. Sometimes they get damaged in removal depending on how much rust and corrosion has locked them in place. Minor scratches can be blended out and reused. Why do you want to take it out?
