kick.... stand ?

Hello folks. No killer problems today and nothing else to contribute, so I thought I would ask a sort of a general question. When I am not wrenching or riding I'm cruising the net for anything Triumph
I have seen a few pictures on the www showing vintage Triumphs using the kick start lever as a kickstand. It seems to be mostly on pre unit chops with no visible electric start. Looks quite strange. How is that done?

Do you mean the kick start as a side stand? If so, I've learned something I did not know. This is all news to me. RR

I was surfing Youtube last night and saw someone with a triumph bobber doing the same thing.

I thought that the guy was nuts! Didn't realise that others do it.

It's only cool till your mainshaft snaps, or the bike falls over.

Although I am not restoring my Bonnie to factory specs, I would not do something like that to my girl
And I certainly don’t want to be on my own as that is where I was before I found this Great resource. - Just idle conversation.
