Amal 932 set up ? ? ?

Hi new to Rat . ( Great site ).
I'm from Ottawa ON. Canada
I've Got a 68 / 650 Bonnie ,Had it for over thirty years .
I just got my head redone put it back on the bike set my tappets
and She just wouldn't start? ( had it running before the head work).
so I started dicking around with the carbs choked the carbs with a rag and She fired up. ( Great ? Not ).It Idles O.K ,but hesitates on throttle, adjust the carbs, idles a little high runs better then stalls?
I have Amal 932 /r300 carbs on it .
Any advice on the throttle / air screw set up ? ? ?

Hiya H.Mate As a newbe I just had another go around today with my Amal 930s.
After checking the spark and fuel I finally set the Pilot air screws - from all the way in to 1and 1 half turns out. I checked to be sure both slides were roughly syncronized and the throttle adjusting ( idle ) screw was not too far in - acording to conventional wisdom - and once the bike started it was pretty close to right.

There are some good links for the concentrics out there on the web and the search feature on this board can help!

Good luck

Hi H.Mate, the 650cc should have 30mm carbs.Check to see if you still have the 30mm manifolds.I believe 32mm into 30mm can cause tuning probs.
32mm carbs should be on something around 850cc
