What is procedure for engine/oil flush?

I have an OIF 71 Tiger, no history and there was some work on that involved barrel being removed. I was told it would be a good idea to flush the engine.

Is it as simple as pouring some Kerosene in the case (barrel off) then removing the drain plug. Repeat except using a cheapo oil. The replace plug and fill normally? Same procedure for the oil in the frame tank?

Thanks

Bob

if you have no history,i would take the frame sump plate off and clean the mesh filter plus remove the crankcase plug and clean the filter in there.i never flush mine out.
try using mobil 1 20/50 vee twin oil in it.i brought some back from america as its not sold in the uk.

If the barrels are off, a simple flush like that, only flushes the sump.

The whole system really ought to be flushed.
Because I had lumps of metal and other stuff in mine.
I did what rambo said and also removed the oil-pressure relief valve.
And the oil pump.
Cleaned all with paraffin and refitted.
I filled the tank/frame with paraffin, left it overnight and drained it for a day.
Then I filled the system with cheap thin oil and primed the sump.
Plugs out, a few kicks to ensure the return is working.
Then filled with pukka oil.
Nice clean system

Thanks for in advice, I had removed the sump, drain and pressure value and cleaned. Good idea to leave the paraffin (kerosene) in overnight then drain.

Thanks guys.
