kicker / clutch questions t140

a new problem just started and i wanted to throw it out there for some suggestions before i go wasting time chasing what may or may not be the issue. Just this week i have had an odd thing happen a few times when starting my bike. When i am in neutral and kick it, i feel the kicker just drag sluggishly without turning over the motor (if i squeeze the clutch the kicker moves effortlessly). as you all know when you kick it you feel the compression of the motor and hear the through the pipes. Once running i have no problem with the clutch what so ever however it just feels as if the plates are slipping when i try to kick it. Would this just be that center adjustment on the pressure plate thru the inspection hole? i have the manual and did the clutch origionally (10 years ago) although it only has 3-4 light seasons on it.

Hi, Crazy........

If the cable adjustment is right, then that's the place to start (no pun intended). It's always a good idea to check that adjustment periodically.

The "village idiot" has been known to do it as well, on occasion: Jim

hey man! I just fixed that on my T100. I was changing out the CamShift plate in the tranny because my second gear was missing and when I put it all back together I would kick it and it would start but it felt really easy. I knew damn well that it wasnt my leg getting stronger ( Im pretty lazy ) So I figure that was it, I couldnt get enough adjustment out of the cable so I just took my cap off, screwed out the clutch pressure plate screw 3/4 or a turn and locked the lock nut back. Good luck!!!!
