No Spokes Can Defeat Me

Ok when I tried to find info about lacing Wheels I had trouble finding alot of info, but I decided to take on the challege anyways cause I already bought some spokes thinking it was gonna take 30 mins and one cup of coffee....hahah nope... these are the things I learned.

#1. Makes sure you have order the right spokes for the right rim. I got sent the wrong ones and wasted 2 days of my life and almost stroked out.

#2 The Short spokes go on the side with the sproket...take that off, I didnt "insert stroke here"

#3 lace the outside then the inside on sproket side first, this keeps the other side from falling out.

#4 Lace the non spoket side, then tighten all spokes to the end of the treads..

This is the way I figured it out, It might not be the best way but I am from the south. If someone does have a link to a good site for this info please post it up for others!

Hi Flatrabbit,

Have a look at http://www.webbikeworld.com/motorcyc.../spoke-wheels/
It is not a triumph wheel but it gives a good idea how to lace your wheels.
I did mine myself (72 Bonnie) and in fact it's not too difficult (once you have the correct spokes) I had the same problem as you, I was supplied with the incorrect (too short) spokes the first time round. Just take your time and bodge up some sort of jig (I used a paddock stand) and you should have them done in a day or two.

Good Luck
