Question T150 pushrods - what do I have here?

When I took the cylinder head off my Trident I found two types of pushrod. 5 with a small diameter cup on the rocker end, this is the rod on the left. The sixth pushrod had a larger diameter cup, this is in the middle. The pushrod on the right is a spare part I brought with the correct part number.

The balls on the rocker arms are all a good fit with the smaller diameter pushrod. The larger pushrod has a lot of play against the ball and is jumping off the ball when I reassemble things and turn the engine over.

It would seem that I have a set of pushrods from the early model years (69-70) but this is a '71 bike. Or maybe they are special parts from Norman Hyde or whoever.

Any help identifying what I have here would be appreciated. I'm tempted to start again with a new set of six pushrods and new balls on the rocker arms but would rather not spend the cash.

Curiouser and curiouser.

Send an e-mail with this info to the firm that sold you the replacement part and request a proper remedy.
