Kickstart pedal rubbing on muffler

Hi everyone,

I'm new to this forum, and have been getting great advise on my newly purchased 69 unrestored T120R.

Well my issue is pretty self explanatory. Any tips or tricks of how I can readjust my pedal so it won't keep rubbing on my new exhausts?

Thanks in advance!

Hi sangalfie,and welcome to TR
Its the exhaust that needs adjusting and not the kick start,
A well placed dent in the pipe might help,
I would not recommend removing meat from kicker.
What type of pipes have you fitted?

Not sure what kind of pipes they are, but they seem to be the standard 69 mufflers.

Any way to go about w/o putting a dent in the muffler?
Also, thanks for your help before in regards to my kickstart issue (back wheel moving as I kickstart), but also seems to be a reaccuring issue. Do I need to readjust or replace the clutch plates.

Hi sangalfie,
I was only kidding about the dent
Your pipes look pretty standard, you should try loosening all the clamps,
then a bit of brute force!
you may need a packer here and there.

If the kicker is hitting the silencer (muffler) you can try moving it backwards,
then re-tighten clamp and hanger.
For your clutch its probably the clutch pushrod.

Us Triumph guy's have got to stick together, and together we'll triumph!
and keep these old bikes on the road, for a long time to come.
And you have a nice tidy one and she looks looked after
