i wanted to ask as well, what speed can a 1971 650 handle on the highway. its my first and i have no tach. whats a realistic cruising speed for short trips of about 150 kms or so. thanx

I rode my 72 Bonneville 70/80 mph very often. I was younger then so I usually rode it hard. They make a lot of racket as though they're straining, but they hold up well with regular maintenence. Frequent regular maintenence!
