Looking for factory info on 67 TR6R

Yes, indeed. I just purchased a sweet 67 Trophy (She and I were born in the same year), and since I love to know as much history as I can, I hope one of you fine folks can tell me something about this bike, serial number DU55582.

Cheers!
Joseph

Try

Triumph Owners Motorcycle Club (TOMCC) www.tomcc.org
Vintage Motorcycle Club (VMCC) www.vmcc.net

one or other should have factory records for this bike giving build date, full spec and dispatch details.

Looks like you made the deal! Well done.

Dagad will be chiming in any time now with the full poop on your bike's recorded history.

Do the frame and engine numbers match?

Great looking ride!!! Your Trophy came off the assembly line a wee bit ahead of my Bonnie. Carl

Congratulations, Trophy's are the best, and my personal favorite of the vintage Triumphs. You might want to try to find a copy of the book The Triumph Trophy Bible by Harry Woolridge, it covers all the years of the bike and details all the changes from year to year. That is a beautiful bike, looks great in black, and personally I would leave it just the way it is. The original color for 1967 was Mist Green and Alaskan White with gold pinstripe. I had a 1968 TR6R, they are great bikes and can be very reliable for daily use.

Thanks to everyone for the compliments on the bike. I'm thrilled with it!

G--I looked the book up online and found a good portion of it (but not all) on Google Books. Looks very interesting. I'm sure I'll pick that up eventually.

Carl--Do you know what month your Bonnie came off the line?

I am going to try TOMCC as well.

Cheers!
Joseph

Try VMCC as well. Believe that VMCC have the factory build record/job card (the spec, build date etc,) for your bike whilst TOMCC have the dispatch book (ie which dealer it was sent to and when).
You may need to join these clubs or pay a fee. Joining gives access to club experts - can be very useful.

Big Thanks!

A great big Thank You to Dagad for digging up the information I was looking for. :

She rolled off the line on January 5th, 1967 and was shipped to the states a few days later.
