Damn I like ridding this thing....................................
The more I ride it, the better I like it and it's not even completely sorted out yet. I have a 2006 T100 which has been my favorite bike of the 18 or so that I've owned but I've been neglecting it lately.
Sorry, I just had to get that off my chest.

So, you like riding the 2006 T100 better?
How do you rate the 68 Bonnie against the other 18 bikes you've had? Just asking since Ive owned about 8 bikes but am probably about 6 months away from getting my first Vintage Bonnie running.
Cheers!

Hi
I have lost track of how many bikes I have owned,
perhaps three dozen?Bmws,Harley,OSSAs,Kaws etc.
The Bonneville is my favorite of all time.
Only its little brother(the Daytona) comes close,
well and my 1966 Honda SuperHawk.

Kev, right now, it is a close race. The 06 is a sweet ride and never fails to bring a grin to my face when I'm riding it. It is smooth, fairly quick (but not fast), handles sweet, and in nearly 8000 miles the only thing I've had to do to it is lube the chain and change the oil. It is a joy to ride but since I've finished putting the 68 back together, when I go into the garage to get one out for a ride, it is the one I want. It is primitive compared to the 06 in just about every respect (starting, suspension, shifting, vibration, etc.) but it feels so right when rolling down the road. I've owned bikes from Honda S-90's to Kawasaki 1300 with some enduro's and race bikes (moto cross and flat track) thrown in the mix. I've never owned a "sport bike" but have ridden a few and the 68 wins out. Maybe because I built it but I don't think so because I've built a couple of Kawasaki KZ1000's and KD175's and they never pulled the stings like the Bionnie does.
Teri, I had a Super Hawk too and really liked it. I also had the Dream(my first motorcycle ever) and Scrambler versions of the 305 Hondas.

I've owned nearly 130 bikes (55 in the collection at the moment), and my 1969 Bonneville 650 vintage roadracer is my all-time favorite.
Maybe because I got to experience all it had to offer at Daytona, Road America and Barber's; but it just FEELS like a bike ought to feel, and LOOKS like a bike ought to look.

I have no idea why we all are here on the forum.
We should be riding right now, we are wasteing
valuable road time.

Great to know guys. Thanks.
Here's another question for conjecture:
If you were to only have 2 pre-1973 bikes, what would they be?
I'm thinking: Bonneville 68/69 and a Norton Commando early 1970s. Or, 2 Bonnies!
