Breather Tube Routing for OIF

Because my bike ('71 650 OIF) came with only (1) "Oil Vent Tube" I have some questions regarding the proper routing of all the vent/breather tubes/pipes and what tubes I need to purchase.

This (1) tube I do have is routed from the front underside of the downtube and the other end drops down in front of the swingarm.
This tube vents the OIF. There are no other tubes on this bike!

I know I should have a tube that comes off the crankcase breather too but I don't and that is routed to the rear of the bike too?

This is where I got confused, I looked in the Triumph "Replacement Parts Catalogue" and got even more confused not only because it doesn't show the proper routing of these tubes but it also specs. out a "T" piece #F11610 and an oil vent pipe # E12349

The diagram makes it look like they all connect together but it doesn't seem like they should. Can someone please help me solve this puzzle?

Nobody answered so I'll take a stab and give you something of a reply. I have a '76 750 so its not an exact match. My manual shows the same items with different part numbers and I am assuming the routing is identical to yours.

On the '76, the breather tube is a funny shaped affair, whose cross-section looks like a "D." The flat side is held up to the rear fender with special clips and follows the radius of the rear fender at its left rim. It clamps directly to the vent tube on the primary before continuing rearward under and below the breather box (side cover) at which point the T is spliced into it permitting the hook up to the "oil vent pipe" (which in yours is hanging to the ground infront of the swingarm). The D tube then continues rearward before meeting up with the fender. The tube ends flush with the lower end (rear) of the rear fender. If you have several small holes along the left side of the rear fender then you know these were for the clips and your routing was the same as the '76. The parts manual shows the other hoses as being round with cross-hatchering on it suggesting reinforcing thread set in the black rubber tubes while the end of the D tube in the manual looks more square.

I do stand to be corrected but I never noticed anything different on any of the other OIF's. I hope this helps some.

Thanks Thirdbike! I guess I'll just order the parts I need and go from there, your description explains things better than the manual that's for sure. My '71 engine is cradled in a '76 T140V frame and both manuals show the same thing. If only we could put all the information that's that's in this forum into a book.
Many thanks to all that contribute!
