The Vanishing Cubs

I went to Auburn Mass last weekend and there wasn't a single Cub in the long line of Triumphs on the field. Where are all the Cubs?

SambaMark- I'm originally from SB. Cut my teeth in SanMarcos Pass and making runs to Cold Spring Tavern!

Nothing like a cold beer, running stream, good music -- and a tritip sandwich....

1961 Tiger Cub racing bike.

Here's my 61 cub racing bike. This was a local bike that raced here in Northern Ireland in the 60's-70's. The day it came home.

And now:

A lot of the racing here is on closed public roads, I grew up on one where the Temple 100 road races were held. The bike was owned by a local business man and another local raced it. After laying in the back of a shed for 20 some years it was mine. I grew up knowing this bike and now have a little bit of my childhood history.
The number 34 was the last number it ever raced under.

Nice bike George
Are you planning to do a bit of classic racing on it yourself?

Hi Webby
No mate, I'm a bit to big for the cub, I'll stick to running it up the road every so often and keep the oil flowing. I think i' will stick to riding my Triumph Tiger 955 thanks.

Cheers:
George

What a cool piece of history!

I'd love to ride that little beastie, I only weigh 135...
