Bought this '03 America July of last year. She's gone under the knife a few times. Airbox and bobbed rear fender were the first things to go. Then came the wiring and battery box projects along with trowing some apes on there, removing the front fender and fork shrouds, and a rattle can paint job. Trimmed and wrapped the pipes during myA/F meter instal. Made the Square tube sissy bar and handlebars during the spring. I was hoping to have the seat on her by now. Foam and leather going on this weekend.

Here she is on a road trip in January with the old store bought bars:

She's a work in progress
But I'll Throw my hat in

Hope you like her

Introducing Miss America

Most of my mods have been performance based but I've made some cosmetic changes to make her mine

Battery Strap

Hidden wiring & Braided Lines

Bobbed Front Fender

I just read the rules and I have to add
Year: The shop sold it to me as 09 but plate says 08
Model: America
Engine size: 865cc
Pipes: TORs
Seat: Original
Wheels:Original
Accessories:Saddle Bags, Sissy Bar, Stem Nut Clock
And the story:
As I said at the start it's a work in progress, so to date this is what I've done
Tidied up the wiring by running them through the bars
Removed the snorkel, enlarged the opening, made a bellmouth, gutted the airbox, K&N Filter
Bobbed the front fender (mainly reshaped only took 35-40 mm off the length)
Changed Grips
Mad a new battery strap out of an old stainless cooktop
Tried, modified, installed about 9 tunes
Temporarily blocked AI (yesterday) I wanted reversibility
Today I'm trying a pair of Buckhorn Bars (see if I like them before I post photo's)

Well,
I'll throw my hat in the ring just for kicks.
Here's BLACK BETTY my bike.

And last, a couple of family pictures. Here's a better view of the rear fender mod, with the custom tail light/ blinker lights, and the sissy bar w/ 3 rockets mounted. Oh yea, I forgot to mention earlier, they BOTH have Riken Raptor Car tires on them. 225X55X16.

here's the credits:
Lets see, where to beguin.
Betty started life as an '07 standard Rocket.
Bobbed the fender, stebil air horn, PC625 battery, home made sissybar with 3 1939 Ford hood ornaments,
which have leds to light them up out the tails via toggle switch, homemade exhaust system, single 3 into one open drag pipe.
Thats all I can think of at the moment.
wife's bike is an '05, just had it for a week,
but already put TORS on it with a cat bypass, and have a clearview windshield, just not in the pic.

Love at first sight

Year: 2009
Model: America
Eng size: 865cc
Pipes: Short TORs
Seat: Stock with sissy bar
Wheels: Stock
Accessories: Tach, short Tors, sissy bar and rack, engine dresser bar, highway pegs, footboard kit, lightbar, visors, stem nut clock and modified the battery cover.

The first time I saw the America in the blue and white, I knew I had to have one. This is my first bike in a very long time and I love it! It's an '09 America with EFI. I've added the short TORs, the British Customs AI removal kit, the accessories listed above and she is running a K&N air filter with modified airbox. It's a great ride! I hate pulling up in the driveway or getting to work as I just want to stay on it all day. I bought it new in April and she's already had her 6K service. If I could only make a living riding this baby I would be in heaven.

Here is my 2010 Thunderbird. This black beauty is the first of the new Birds to be licensed in Michigan.

I have added the following:
  • Roadster screen
  • Tank cover
  • Luggage Rack
  • Ram mount for my TomTom
  • A very special motorcycle merkin fur that a nice lady made for me on the spot in the middle of nowhere in Wisconsin

Picture sans rack, cover and merkin fur:

Of course, one must have an English Bulldog to match one's English bike:

04 Triumph

2004 Triumph Speedmaster
Engine 800cc
Pipes: off road shorties
Wheels: original
Accessories: Chrome fender bib
Solo seat
Saddle bags
Windshield
Tear drop mirrors
Front turn signals relocated
Engine mods: Airbox removed
Re-jetted carburators

My short story: My first ride was on the back of a Triumph Bonneville in 1959. I was 12, my friend was 10. He stole a Triumph from his dad's motorcycle shop. I held it up while he kick started it and we went blasting down a gravel road at a very high speed. I remember this because when I stuck my head around his shoulder and opened my mouth, it blew out my cheeks and I couldn't close my mouth. Now 50 years later, I have a Triumph that doesn't go as fast but is still a helluva lot of fun.
