2007 Bonneville: The Great Escape

Year: 2007
Model: Bonneville Standard
Eng size: 865cc
Pipes: Staintune Reverse Cone
Seat: Custom made
Wheels: rear: Pirelli Scorpion150/70/R17 front: Bridgestone 130/80/-18 TW203
Accessories: Not much.. Less is more!
And the story:

This started out as a standard silver 2007 Bonneville but has been reworked to look like it helped Steve McQueen jump that fence back in the day.

The idea was to make the Bonni look flat, low, powerful, and a whole lot more old school. Not classic old, but rough old! Like a 60'bobber with some force and attitude. Drew a lot of inspiration from Exile cycles who make amazing looking machines, and I really like how they often use a front tire as fat as the rear. So I wanted to do something like that. And I wanted it to be a Triumph that The King Of Cool himself would nod approvingly to at an intersection before burning of leaving nothing but tire smoke and burnt rubber.

I actually build the bike for my brother- he's the finance & I'm the creative force. But as I'm studying in Australia and he's in Norway he still hasn't seen the bike in the flesh. So to prove that he is in for a treat when it reaches the Norwegian shores I wanted to try to get it voted bike of the month - and down the line get it featured in a magazine. And just maybe try to get it in a movie - think MadMax 2010

The mechanical work has been done by Deus Ex Machina, and an amazing job they did. But the look and parts are all my brother and me.
Supersport bars from BellaCorse
Riser shaved down to sit lower
Ikon shocks to lower it 3" front and rear
Blacked out indicators front and rear hugging the frame for a tight fit and look
Single speedo unit, chrome with white face
Thruxton headlight brackets
Custom paint job with old school Triumph logo on the tank and side covers
Bobbed fenders front and rear
Break light customized to be lower than original
Engine covers powdercoated black
Rims powdercoated black
Seat has been slimmed and shortened
Old School gum grips
Waves break disc front
Braided carbonfiber look breaklines
CRG lanesplitter bar end mirrors

And I think that's all for now...

Been thinking to swap the pipes for some Staintune peashooters, as I think thy would fit the look better, and heatwrap the pipes. So if anyone has some pipes they would consider swapping for some reverse cones then let me know.

Hope you like it as much as I do!

And PS. It handles like a champ!! That flat bar with the smaller front rim makes it turn in and out of traffic like a motard!

That thing looks mean! I love how that fat front tire on the smaller rim fills out what would have been a gap between tire and front fender. Very nicely done.

I absolutely love this bike. My son wants a Bonnie and I'm hoping to kit one out for him just like this one.

That is hands down the nicest Bonnie I have seen. I love my Bonnie and have put hours upon hours into it but this just unique enought to stand out as gorgeous.

Well done.

The Great Escape

Did you do anything to the motor to hop it up ? You should put the 904 kit on it. Sweet looking Triumph!

unfortunately the money didn't stretch to work on the engine this round. but would absolutely love to hop it up down the track.
