...and then some.
1983 Triumph T140W Bonneville 750 TSS "Electro"
Only 8-valve twin sold by Triumph / Meriden
Weslake designed 8-valve head
5-speed transmission, electronic ignition standard
Electric start, dual front disc brakes standard
Paoli suspension, Bing CV carbs standard
Only non-original bits on the bike are the megaphone mufflers (headers are original), and the BMW hand grips.
This was the last model Triumph built at the Meriden factory, (less than 300 made it to the U.S.) and this
particular bike was one of the last to roll off the line before the factory doors closed forever.
The bike runs almost as good as if it were brand new. Every switch and indicator light is perfectly functional.
The arm-straightening pull from 3,500 RPM is very similar to a modern bike, and it has every bit of class as any
60s Triumph model.
This IS NOT a "garage queen" either. It gets ridden regularly although not on extended highway tours (for that matter,
none of my bikes got to go on an extended tour this year).
Sorry I don't have any "action shots" or scenic pix, but the bike speaks for itself.
