New bike of the month format ! - August 2009

Following a suggestion by the Forum moderator, Catenaccio, we have decided to change the format to have the monthly competition featuring different model types along the lines of:

August: Twins - Bonneville, T100, Thruxton, Scrambler.

September: Hinckley Classic Triples and Meriden Vintage - Thunderbird, Legend, Adventurer and Triumph Vintage.

October: Cruisers - America, SpeedMaster, Thunderbird Twin, Rocket III.

November: Sports - Street-Triple, Daytona-any model, Speed-Triple.

December: Tiger.

January: Sports-Tourers - Sprint, Trident 750-900, Trophy.

February: Open

March: Winning bikes of each month.

Entries for August for the Twins can be submitted now, same rules as before, limited to the first 10 entries, maximum of 4 pics (standard size, no large ones that take out the whole screen please).

Winning bike each month will be featured on the Home Page.

Having Another Go!

Right, let's give this another try then:

This is my 2007 Bonnie Black.

It now has just over 21000 miles on it, and I like riding it all over the place.

The facts:

Name: Bonnie
Year: 2007
Model: Bonneville Black
Eng size: 865 air cooled normally aspirated parallel twin.
Pipes: British Customs Predators
Seat: Corbin GF&L. Good for a full day of riding, no problem at all.
Wheels: The stockers. I like spokes.
Accessories: Simple stuff - Tach, knee pads, centerstand, fork gaiters. If a T100 had it, I added it. City bags for carting a bit of standard guff (waterproofs, maps, camera etc). Performance wise I added Ikon springs in the front forks - much better than stock, and Ohlins on the back to really help the ride quality. UJ tank cover for a little Austin Powers effect, and a chrome front mudguard and cam cover plus harmonica tank badge to give an extra air of "classic". Airbox removed and replaced with K and N pod filters with silicone "outerwears" pre filters, airbox replaced with British Cutoms airbox removal kit, with added custom toolbox and mud flappage. Recently added a Renntec rack for a bit of extra carrying space (not shown in these pics) and also a Cibie 7" lens / reflector unit, plus Osram plus fifty 70/65 bulb to actually light the road up. It works wonders too!

Read all about airbox removal and custom bracketry here:

http://www.triumphrat.net/twins-tech...x-removal.html

Current set up with stock CVK 36 carbs is 148 main jets, 42 pilots, mixture screw 1.25 turns out, dynojet needle and springs, with clip on position 5 from the top on the needle.

Runs like a scalded dog!

No idea how much power and torque it makes, I haven't put it on a dyno and I'm not sure I can be bothered really.

My Bonneville Black

Well, here's my bike, I don't expect it to get many votes as it's not hugely special. It's an ace bike though and I love riding it. These pics of it were taken at the Isle of Man TT. It's got a few shiny extras that were on it when I bought it, usually has a Thruxton seat, has Norman Hyde M bars. Think that's it for now. Hope you like it.

If it's special to you, then it it's plenty special. Let me see.....Bonnie Black, check, Chrome cam cover, check, UJ tank cover, check, renntec rack, check.

Clearly you are a person of exquisite taste!

I especially like the first picture, with the artwork backdrop.

PS here is a link that explains posting pics by various methods:
