Bike of the Month July.
Hi All,
It was suggested to me by a member on here to put my bike up for BOTM, so here she is.
Year:1997 ( Normal Year 1998,this must be one of the earliest (Rare)
Model: Triumph Sprint Sport Limited Edition
Eng size:885 cc (900cc)
Pipes:Standard up turned as seen in the Pic's
Seat:Hand made by a local shop here in Wales ( Very similar to Sargent Brand)
Wheels: Again Standard for the model, in the picture you can see Metzlers Z6 Tyres fitted they now have Z4 fitted.
Accessories:Flat bars, Rear Wheel Hugger, Braided Hoses,Heated Grips (This is wet n windy Wales after all LOL), I also have a black touring screen, different to the one fitted & an after market belly pan.
And the story:
It's funny how things come about, Whilst at my local Superbikes shop 2 years ago, I had gone there for parts for my Suzuki DR 600 Dakar trial bike, my wife went for a walk around the show room, next thing I knew my daughter came up to me to say " Mum's picked a bike for you) so at first I just laughed and to my surprise I went to look and seen this machine, love at first sight, so to speak, needless to say here we are over 2 years on and she is out the front waiting to go.
Thanks for looking guys
And thanks for sorting out the pic's Catenaccio.

Very nice, indeed. The beer can is frosting on the cake :
Simple, in the world of complex machines and people, is a breath of fresh air. Where are you "gonna" hang the licence plate and tail light? Are they on the left side and I just can't see them? This is simplicity at it's finest. My only negative is the black primer. I fully understand your thoughts on the clean up time, but primer will absorb water and cause rust issues. Just a thought on a wonderful looking putt.

2008 Bonneville BlackJack
Here's my contribution to the cause.
Year: 2008
Model: Triumph Bonneville Black
Eng Size: 865cc
Pipes: British Customs matte black Predators
Seat: Thruxton Seat with black cowl
Wheels: Standard
Accessories: AI removal, British Customs Airbox Elimination, black wrapped headers, black Ikon performance shocks, Pedestrian Slicer, Sixty8 Flyscreen, black fork gaitors, single CRG billet style mirror, Red LED speedo and tach lights, inverted black M bars, new metal Triumph tank badges.
Custom black Union Jack paint job I designed and had painted by Pike's Custom Art ( http://www.myspace.com/pikescustomart)in West Unity OH. The red and white striping is not stick on pin-striping; it's actual paint that is completely seemless. The guy did an amazing job.
And the story: Obviously I've been going for the cafe racer look. I've wanted to make this a combination of classic vintage looks and modern performance. I'm not planning on chopping the fenders even though it would be more "cafe" because I absolutely love the classic looks they give. At this point the project is nearly complete with only a few minor additions in its future. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
-Christian

The Story
It all started with a pair of handlebars... I decided after looking around TRN that I wanted lower bars and bar-ends on my (then) stock Legend. Once I'd made that change the mod-ing bug bit me and wouldn't let go. I started messing with the jetting and the airbox, looking for a few extra HP. I decided I wanted a more cafe'd look, so I started looking at fender and seat options. And then I got a wild hair to put a pair of USD forks on. That's an epic tale in itself, but you can read the whole sorry story here if you're a glutton for punishment...
The bike as it is now has been through four sets of handlebars, three sets of mirrors, three seats, two fenders, two tail-lights, three headlights... and the list goes on. Anything I could make myself I did (FEK, mounting brackets, radiator guard, etc.), mostly out of scrap aluminum - I have no machining skills or equipment. A few things, like the top triple clamp and wheel spacers I had to have done for me. I know it's a bit of a love-it-or-hate-it style, but I dig the raw, unfinished vibe so I'm pretty happy with it. I'd like to clean up the wiring a bit somehow, and maybe find a better rear-hugger solution but in the meantime it's a blast to ride - the extra power, better suspension, and improved handling have totally transformed the bike.
cheers,
~crosstie

its made for a mountain bike speedo
Schwinn speedo from walmart cost $10 yes $10 bucks and will work up to speeds of 99mph. also tell you trip, average speed, temp, clock etc. hook up with wire(2x magnets) on front rim. works great. I have been using these for years on old bikes or on dirt bikes and the price is hard to beat.$10 and $14 if you want a wireless one.
how much did you pay for your speedo? $50,100 200 mine $10

Crosstie Bike
Funny, I saw this photo and thought hmmmm, I parked my '65 Bonnie next to a bike just like this yesterday in Seattle. Sure enough, it's the same bike. Photo aside, it looks terrific in person too. Very nice mods.

Ha ha, that was your white Bonnie over on 65th? Great-looking bike, I spent some time ogling it after I got back from my hair cut

Crosstie - I really like that header. I have a very similar one on my '79 Bonnie cafe racer. Something about that constant-diameter tailpipe has always appeared to me since the late 70s Yoshimura pipe I first saw on a Kawasaki 740 4-cyl.
