Sidi Vertigo Issues

I finally bit the bullet and shelled out on a pair of Sidi Mega Gore-tex boots (the standard vertigo boot but with Gore-tex lining).

I find that the Techno VR closure system on the calf just insn't enough to make a comfortable fit. Even with leather pants tucked into the boot and adjusters tightened to the max I have a substantial gap all the way round my calf/shin, so much that it feels draughty.I'm a well built 6ft chap so I don't really think I have skinny legs.

My other issue is that the boot is so stiff I'm struggling to change gear properly. I can't flex my ankle down far enough to hook underneath for the upshift. I haven't tried adjusting the gear linkage yet which should help.I know new leather gear takes time to break in but I've not experienced a boot this stiff before.

Has anyone out there experienced anything like this with Sidi Vertigos or can give any advice?

Returning the boots is no longer an option as I've managed to scratch them on my nice new grippy knurled foot pegs. That'll teach me to buy online without trying, I thought they'd be similar to my Black Rain Evo's.

I have a pair of Vertigo Corsa Airs, and they fit great. It's my
understanding the 'mega' is the wide version of their boots. They
have Vertigo Mega, Way Mega, etc. Maybe you needed the regular
version? I have the regular version and mine fit tight at the calf
(when I tighten the adjuster).

I have noticed ankle mobility is somewhat limited in the up/down
direction, but that has gotten somewhat better as they broke in.
I usually wear them on my Thruxton, so my toes point down
naturally there anyway.

Thanks for the info. I wasn't aware Sidi made wide/standard versions.
I guess I should go see a dealer to be sure.
