Triumph Sympatex Expedition II Boots
I just received these boots. I paid $200. My first impression of them is that they are warm. In the description on the Triumph site it indicates that they are very breathable...well I'm not sure I'm going to be able to handle them in 90+ weather. Just walking around in them my feet and lower calves are sweating and the weather is in the upper 70's.
The overall fit and quality is good. They will take some considerable "breaking in" though. My first walk in them the shifter cover piece on top of the boot painfully presses into the top of my foot. Initially I thought that would be a deal breaker but after walking for a time that seems to have improved. A pair of heavy socks might cushion this somewhat during the break-in.
Like I said for $200 the boots are of a decent quality. The "Triumph" logo seems to be an afterthought...just pressed into the upper leather covering the shin plate. The stamp is light and hard to read. That’s a bit disappointing since that was one of the reasons I got the boot. It looks like it will disappear after some age and wear.
All in all...decent boot for the money. I think it's going to be warm...probably too warm for our Southern Summers but we'll see. I recommend it for cool weather riding or colder climates.
