Need recommendation on good boots

Any recommendations for a good classic looking, sturdy, lace up motorcycle boot?

Try a pair of classic British Doc Martens to go with your British steel....

OK, these are the boots I wound up getting, Red Wing model 8136:

I like them a lot, and they're not very heavy, fit well, and are comfortable, I also like the old school looks of them. Price is $150. I was originally going to get a pair of Chippewa 6" Motorcycle boots, but saw these and liked them more.

I just ordered a pair of these (Dr. Martens 8761). I'm using the non-steal toe version right now an like them.

Update: WOW, I just got the boots and they are going to take some breaking in. I took a little walk in them today and got blisters. Time and use should resolve it but they are MUCH heavier than the non-steel toe version.

Why is it all Drmartens look like they came out of the Popeye movie? The toes are always bulbus and huge.

Talking

I don't like boots with laces when riding, one less thing to catch in rotating parts!

I ended up in here because I want a good riding shoe but I am not sure I want to wear a boot. I was hoping there would be a little more information.

Seems like a lot of these manufacturers are very "proud" of their footwear, hence the salty price tags.

The boot that I am finding most appealing so far (at least visually) is the Oxtar Jupiter II

But again they are very proud of this piece of footwear, 129.99 is the lowest I have seen it. I thought my days of expensive footwear we over for myself... and thank god my kids are too young to know what "Jordan's" are.

When I was in the Army I soaked my boots in water and wore the. Plastic bag around my feet of course... This helps break them in. When the leather is wet it expands then as it dries it forms around some of the contours of your feet. Of course not the heal. Another method I have heard of is walking in the boots then pinpoint your sore spots. Soak the sore area of the boot with rubbing alcohol, applied with a cotton ball.

By the way, I have an 81 Gibson SG Firebrand, Tacoma Mini Jumbo Koa, and a Dean Performer. The Dean is a compfire guitar :0) Always sounds sweet though.
