Well, "I em' what I em', and that's all that I em"

Those are some nice guitars! I've got a cheap old Harmony for campfire stuff but it's all fun.

That's similar to how I used to break in my hiking boots. Fill'em up with warm water let set a minute then wear'em all day. Yeah the first day will bring blisters but after that they are as comfy as can be.

Found a pair of my Jump boots in the Attic! 12 years old and they shine up like mirros still. I am going to wear these for awhile. Of course they are not water proof, but I do not plan on riding in the rain. They do have re-enforced heels and toes and leather up to the shin. I am used to wearing these from being in the Military and both are very comfortable and require little break in. One time, the method I described earlier.

I also found a pair of Jungle boots that may come in handy in the summer time.

Just for reference here is what each boot looks like...

I strongly recommend the Hogg All Weather Microlite from Altberg in the UK.

I too wanted lace up's, especially something good for the kind of riding I do (dual sport) and ordered these. Have had them over two years and am very happy with them.

I was concerned about ordering boots over the web but using the sizing tool on their website worked great - fit is perfect.

Google Altberg.

After much looking at Docs, Milwaukee's, Matterhorn, and various military surplus I ended up with a pair of Ft. Lewis boots from Danner. About the only thing that could improve them for me is if they were strapped like tank boots- whch is what I used to wear. They fit all my requirements: Not boy-racer styling (can wear them when not riding too, just as gtood hiking boots), 11" tall for trouser blousing, /no/ steel toe, no safety toe (I like the tactile response of feeling my shifter), not-insulate, but, are water proof (goretex inner boot).

So far I'm super happy with them. And I **** better well for $250+

Danner

I wear Danner Recon boots because I like the height, comfort and durability. Worn various Danner's for years-best boots I have ever worn.

Tried Altberg's and I was not impressed with the quality or durability.
