You sure? I thought most of the Red Wings were now made over seas (like 99% of all footwear).

+1 on the Red Wings. I wear steel toed Loggers most of the time. I like the secure feeling of the steel toes and my feet never slip (on the pegs or on the pavement).

I have Triumph Highway boots UK size 6 and I bought from the female section. Here are my impressions

The boots they were advertised as female boots but were obviously manufactured on a male last. Consequently they are way to wide. I do wear them with chunky socks but they look to clompy for what I wanted which was to wear motorcycle boots as a fashion accessory thereby being able to wear them at work but still look smart.

They are raw leather inside - not lined in anyway.

There is not much point in buying Triumph inorder to be loyal to the brand etc. They are manufactured in eastern europe like Romania. I bet in Romania they are sold as work boots for a fraction of the price you will pay.

In the photo on the Triumph site and in their catalogue they are crefully arranged to make them look a bit more stylish. Obvioulsy the Triumph photographer knows what people want but the Triumph boot buyer dosn't. I think it is a shame not to make the extra effort with the product as it is an opportunity wasted. I am not going to buy several pairs of boots in an unending search for what I want and I am not going to buy Triumph boots again with out a very careful examination.

At home I have 2 pairs of bike boots. Altberg - brilliant and I will go back to them and Triumph - OK. I wear them sometimes but I'd probably just go to Altberg when buying again.

Just scrole the boots to see the full selection

Nope, not sure. But I am sure you're probably right and I know some of their footwear lines are made overseas. (e.g. their Irish Setter line) But I believe at least some of their boots are still made at their factory in Red Wing, MN. Their online corporate history mentions they have three facilities.

Still - based on my experience, they are a quality product worth considering.

When you're sliding down the road with your ankle pinned under the bike, you will be glad you spent the extra cash for good boots! Don't be a tightwad when it comes to protection.

OK...I have a question. In every description of these boots on the net and in reviews the word "warm" is present. Not a problem for riders in cooler climates but I live where it is warm much of the time, bloody hot a lot of the time, and cool some of the time. Exactly how "warm" are these boots. If they are too "warm" that would pretty much preclude their use by me most of the time. I really need something that breaths.

I don't chat much on the web, but I've been riding for over 30 years, and wearing those products since the beginning. Waterproof? Put some Snowseal on 'em.

You can find some good deals on the web. Check out, for instance:

Happy trails!
Mate I just had a look over the boot barn, if ya can't find what you're after here they just don't make it.

I just bought a pair of the Triumph Explorer boots. I looked for boots for quite awhile, the old ones were still useable, but not waterproof.

These Explorer boots are very comfortable, both on and off the bike.

Unfortunately I've not had a good opportunity to test their waterproof feature yet, so I can't really comment on that.

They were reasonably priced, compared to other similar boots I could find locally. I've learned not to buy shoes unless I can try them on first. There is too much variation in sizing from one manufacturer to another.

Just got the Explorer 2 boots the other day-300 miles in 90 degree heat-not too bad. 30 miles in rain-dry feet. Seam ok so far and no break in needed.
