I will vouche for the comfort of the off roads as well as their construction. My old Triumph explorer boots are like boards compared to the touring SIDI's, however I can't vouche for the low end SIDI's comfort or durability. The vertigo's are more of a track boot aren't they? I don't think there necessarily has to be a trade off between comfort and protection. Now granted the vertigo's may withstand about any impact known to man, but realistically safety doesn't have to be uncomfortable anymore. Vendramini's, Puma's are a couple of other quality bootn options to consider.
