American made boots, check these out!

I bought a pair of boots about a year ago from a small bespoke firm here in Virginia, and have loved every mile of riding I've done in them. They are the "Hoggard" boot made especially for motorcyclists. I stink at posting photos, so check out their website. Don't let the smooth neoprene sole fool you, it grips wet, oil roads just fine. A little pricey, but probably the last boots I will ever have to buy. Check them out at

I looked. No ankle protection, no shifter pad, heel wayyy to big, not waterproof, no lining -cold in winter . Just and ugly cowboy boot. If you think its a motorcycle boot then either you ride a Harley or you work for them.

Masquerading every day as a normal person is exhausting.

Bates are very comfortable - like gloves for your feet, but they don't have much padding or armor.

I hate to revive an old thread but I just had to add.

Not ALL Red Wings are made in the good ol' US of A

Only the Red Label Red Wings are US made.
However, the last pair I purchased, July 2013, were of such poor quality, I continue to wear my 2006 Red Wings and have donated the new ones to good will.
I'd look elsewhere for a good boot.
Viberg boots www.workboot.com are hand made out of Victoria Canada or Dayton, from Vancouver are great boots.
My go to boot is the 98 Snoot by Viberg
Just my opinion is all.
Peace
Owen
EDIT:
Well to my surprise and annoyance not all Viberg boots are Canadian made. Seems they also have an "off shore" line of boots. Most of the work boots are all made off shore.
Viberg.com seems to have the Victoria made boots.
Sorry all.

Viberg Boots at $450.00? Makes me wonder if they are over 2 times better than boots that cost $200 and less. And, if so, how are they better?

Makes me wonder about helmets too; Shoei and Arai are over $500.00 each. Are they 2 and 3 times better than the less expensive brands? I doubt it.

What's in a name? Money!

As far as helmets go, I used to be a "what's the difference !" guy, then I got an Arai, the fit, finish and quality is noticeably better than the KBC and HJC lids I had previously.

Russell Moccasin (Wisconsin) makes two bespoke motorcycle boots ... the Sturgis and the Daytona. Beautifully made but they are not armored, no shift pad, etc. If you have 10 -12 weeks to wait for them to be made they will be the most comfortable boots you have ever worn. russellmoccasin.com
