Hello everyone,
For the past few weeks my baby has been shutting off on the interstate mostly, but it seems to happen whenever I get on the throttle and then let off. The RPM's drop like normal but then cuts off. Here are a few things that have happened recently that could be the culprit. I recently removed the AI, which doesn't seem to be the problem because I have ridden it for days after removal with no problem. However, about two weeks ago, I was backing out of the shed and I dropped it but I broke the fall with my body. (better me than my bike) It wasn't a hard fall so there are no scratches or dents. It seems like after this fall, it started shutting off and aside from it being annoying it is dangerous. To give you experts a little more information, so you can hopefully point me in the right direction. This is typically how it goes down, from start to finish. I open up the throttle on the interstate and everything is good, riding nicely, I am in 4th or 5th gear and take an off ramp. I pull in the clutch and the RPMs go down and bam. It shuts off, the oil light comes on but thats it. I let the clutch go while it is still moving and it kicks right back on. I have read other postings that give dozens of things that it could be but none of the complaints sound like mine except for it shutting off. Oh, and there is no puttering or warning that it is going to shut off. Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks
Gary
