Dead Bonnie

Took my 2006 Bonnie for a ride on Friday. Hot, humid weather. About 4 miles into the trip, I stopped for a traffic light and as soon as I did, the bike just stopped running. Plenty of fuel and the indicator lights were on. When I pressed the "Start" button...nothing. Not even a cranking of the motor. Tried shutting off the ignition, playing with the "Kill" swtitch....no deal.
Then I recognized that I had just come up a really long hill (approx 1 mile), so decided to turn the bike around and coast down, as that, at least, was in the direction home.

When I got to the bottom of the hill, I figured I'd try to start it once more before the long push to my house and guess what? It fired right up and took me home.

I'm thinking this might be a heat related issue. I'm wondering if there is a relay in the "Start" circuit that might be the culprit...

Anybody have a similar experience or some ideas?

Thanks.
