For those of us that Keihen CS-S carbs it has been a frustrating ordeal to find any info on syncing them up, but this is how its done. Really simple!
If your idle was strong on initial install start-up, skip step #1.
1. If you have low or no idle after you start your bike for the first time after install, you have to go through the top of the carbs[it looks like a toilet cover] to access the needle jet that is set at the factory default of #4 on the clip. See illustration. Set the clip to the #3 position replace the top cap and fire the bike up. The lower the clip number the higher the jet sits for start up and vice versa. If you have a strong idle, go to step #2, if not, repeat the process to clip #2 and so on till you get a strong idle.
2. Drive 70 miles over to a bud's house[Duckman] that has a manometer or build one yourself using Duckman's complete guide to building your own, see thread. Hook up the tubes to the vacuum outlet on your intake manifold and fire the bike up to determine which carb is out of sync. Here's the easy part, just adjust the air bleed screw in or out on the ONE carb that is not in sync, until you hear the engine get stronger and the manometer's fluid is close to level with one another.
3. Idle should be pretty strong but not to worry since all you have to do now is turn the black flex idle knob to the desired level of idle then you're done.
4. Put the seat and tank back on and go for a "hell-bent-for-leather-putt" to make sure everything's cool and to have fun.
That's all there is to it........now why the hell wasn't there something like this at Sudco.com or ANYWHERE on the Net, go figure.
My thanks to Duckman in this endeaver.
