Ear Plugs: Who uses them?

I do, on long hauls.
It cuts down on wind noise and really does leave me feeling less fatigued. Around town, I generally don't bother.

All the time. I only wish I had started sooner.

I use them anytime I ride outside of the city. They're pretty much a necessity when you wear an Arai RX7.

I've been wearing them for the last 5 years or so... I get the inexpensive, smooth foam ones that do about 20-25db reduction from the pharmacy section of my local supermarket. Cheap, easy to get and good really works for me!

I was wearing the standard foam ones but I found that although it reduced the wind noise, it actually exacerbated the pipe noise. It's a frequency issue. I'm having my custom ear plugs made (again...lost one of the old ones) to reduce amplitude without losing my ability to hear danger approaching. But then again, my girlfriend's voice can break glass from a mile away!

If you want to save your hearing, use them, pure and simple.

Unless it is an in-town destination, I'm wearing earplugs.

All shops and dealers should carry them.

I wear them on the Thruxton because of the TT pipes.

I haven't been on the Trophy because the pipes are much quieter but wind noise is starting to get to me so I'm starting to use them when I'm riding it too. Now I just need repackable cans so I can make it a little louder. The Microns are a little too quiet but have a nice sound when accelerating.

Funny this thread should come up. Today was the first time I used earplugs and what a huge difference they made to my ride. I usually wind up with a headache after a long run but not this time. I actually rode with more confidence because the noise from the wind didn't affect my concentration.
