Just like Xmas

Just had a big box of computer bits arrive for SWMBO's new PC.

I am replacing EVERYTHING except the case and the 2 hard drives.

New Intel DX38BT mobo, Quad core Q6700 CPU, 2 Gb RAM, 2 x video cards, 800w Power Supply, extra cooling fans.

Should keep me busy for a day or 4.

You're wasting your time Bob, she won't believe you, you're doing it back to front. Throw away the old box and buy a new one and put all the old bits into it. It will then look new. Much cheaper too and she won't know the difference.

.......don't you know anything about women ? It's all in the image !

You're half right, tbird. After that you put all the cool stuff in your old case.

That way you're both happy.

It only works with Windows 95, Bob - hence the 'retro'.

But seriously - only 2GB of RAM?

Mr Murphy needs his butt kicked!!

Went to boot up the old PC to do a last back up before upgrade and the Power supply for the monitor died.

Luckily, I had a spare, but it had a different plug (nothing a pair of cutters and some electrical tape couldnt fix).

I told her that that spare P/Supply would come in handy one day.
