Motorcycles aren't allowed in parking garages because they can swerve around barriers and leave without paying. Still, there needs to be legislative action taken. Cycles are more fuel efficient and take up less space in these crowded, polluted urban areas, so the local governments should be passing regulations
encouraging the use of scooters and motorcycles, not punishing it.
We can already use the HOV lanes, so why not have special angled parking spaces for them? You can get at least three or four in the space one car normally requires, so how about a little support here? At my wife's work they have special parking spaces for hybrid vehicles, but nothing for two-wheelers. This is bass-ackward if you asked me.
Honestly, I've been thinking for some time that the AMA should take this up as a legislative cause on the basis of fuel economy, clean air, and less parking requirements for commuters. It's time!
