Motorbike series on BBC

First of three-part motorcyle series on local BBC news in East Midlands of England.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JCuhNnumPxU

This one covers motorcycle simulation and some research being done on a charity ride.

Note crashed Triumph towards the end!

More to come.

Frankly, I wish the BBC wouldn't bother with these stupid programmes; they make 'bikers look like idiots and I really don't want to see that smug little fairground ride being peddled as a 'motorcycle simulator' again! Note the clueless girlie getting off the 'bike on the wrong side (always good for a drop, that one); note the inevitable crash mention and picture of a wrecked 'bike; note the typical 'we're not yobs, we ride for charity' apology; note the inevitable car vs. motorcycle slant - like no 'biker owns or rides a car...??

Nauseating, all of it...

I seem to remember this from last year. And it's only just going out?

Keith G, I may be reading between the lines here, but I suspect you're not a big fan then! To be fair, when mainstream TV does anything about my great passions it often makes my blood boil because I feel they aren't doing it justice...

I'll defend the crashed bike though, because it is actually part of the story being told.. There was a crash on the charity ride which is part of the series later in the week. And give the girl a break, it was her first time getting on a motorbike and she has been learning about them ever since... Every rider in the world has to get on the bike for the first time, don't they?

bovefrankj, last year you would have seen the first shots of it being built, etc, but they have only just finished it and got it working, which is why it is only now being shown for the first time on the TV.

Thanks for the posts, even yours Keith G.
