Danish tyre test

A Danish magazine has tested sporttouring and sport tyres:

Sporttouring:
Quote:
* 1, 46 point, Dunlop Roadsmart
* 1, 46 point, Metzeler Roadtec Z6
* 1, 46 point, Pirelli Diablo Strada
* 4, 43 point, Michelin Pilot Road II
* 5, 40 point, Bridgestone BT21
What I find most interesting in the sporttouring results is that after so many years the Metzeler Z6 still managed joint 1st. But having said that, looking at the points, none of them appear to be particularly bad!!!

Sport:
Quote:
* 1, 46 point, Bridgestone BT-016
* 1, 46 point, Continental Sport Attack
* 3, 40 point, Metzeler Sporttec M3
* 3, 40 point, Pirelli Diablo Rosso
* 5, 37 point, Michelin Pilot power 2CT
* 6, 32 point, Dunlop Qualifirer RR
The sports tyres results were very surprising to me!!!

The whole article is here (in case any of you read Danish).

Sorry mate, my Danish is as good as my Greek. Though we've sent a young Tassie lass over there, to put some much needed commoner genes into your royal family's bloodlines. & I hear that she's getting pretty good at the lingo.
I was surprised to see the Dunlop Qualifier's so low down on the list (ie last!). I've found them to be very good on my Street Triple, long wearing & great handling. I got 8500 klms out of my first rear.
I was told that the Australian supplied Qualifier's were from a different factory than the ones that came on my bike, & not as good. & I have noticed that the new rear doesn't feel as confidence inspiring as the original. But I haven't put many klms on it yet, & it could still be bedding in.
I think I'll be trying the Pirreli Diablo Rosso's next.

PS Sorry mate, I didn't look at your address, & just assumed you were Danish.

I too am a bit surprised by the list. Does it take in to account wear and cupping though? My BT020's and 014's were really bad for cupping.

OS I had the Dunlop D208RR and thought that they were great too. The Corsa's as supposed to be pretty average in the wet.

I'm using the Bridgestone 021's by default, I went for Michelin but they had ran out of the size for my CB. They recommended the dual compound Bridgestones. I was a bit dubious but they knocked them down to the same price and now I'm very happy with them, good sticky cornering tyres and harder wearing in the centre.
