Best Live Show
Call it a show. Call it a concert. Call it a *shudder* festival. Call it what you want. What is the best live performance you have ever seen? Not just a band you saw on television or the interwebs. A concert that you have been to.
The Dropkick Murphys put on a consistently awesome show, but, I'm going to have to say it was The Toasters at Mohawk Park here in Tulsa Oklahoma. Around 1995 I think. The band had the entire crowd on it's feet and dancing like mad. Then they came into the crowd and danced along with everybody and passed the mic around to let everybody sing a verse or two...good times man...good times.
Heres a newer song. They got way more into it 13 years ago.

Well hell,
it's difficult - every gig is a special event, has it's own particular excellences associated with it, but for me
1. Queen at Wembley stadium in 1986 was totally awesome - 72000 people having a good time, and the first concert I ever went to.
2. AC/DC at wembley arena in 1996 (or was it 97?) with my best buddies - it was just a kickass day for a lot of reasons, and the AC/DC set was fantastic
3. Roger Waters at the excel energy center last year
And, oh, lots of bands. Hawkwind, Pink Floyd, and any time I can see Jethro Tull is just fine by me.

too many great ones to pick a best, but some that stand out:
70's - Van Halen (y'never forget your first ), the Cars w/ the Motels
80's - Deep Purple, Frank Zappa(thing fish era),
90's - U2 (zoo TV tour), Pink Floyd
00's - Zappa Plays Zappa
Fave shudders - Woodstock 94, and any of the Bridge School Benefits Neil Young puts on every year.

I forgot Deep Purple (How?!!!) - superb gig in 1987 with the mk 2 lineup. Richie blackmore did one of his characteristic "I'm p!ssed off" sessions, and Jon Lord had to play his riff for "smoke on the water" in the encore.
Excellent.

Too many to remember. Baltimore and DC had so many great little clubs to see bands back in the 80's and 90's.
The Supersuckers toured with Steve Earle in '97 I think. They played at the 8x10 one night after a big festival in a different part of town and hardly anyone showed up. After they each played a country set the Supersuckers came back and played their full rock set completely unannounced.
They might actually be able to hang with Willie.

Rebel Rouser
After thinking this over for some time, In 1983, I saw Duane Eddy in Hollywood with Don Randi on keyboards, Hal Blaine on drums, Steve Douglas on sax, Ry Cooder on guitar and Jorge Calderon on bass.
Best show over the Stevie Ray and Jeff Beck show, or Frank at the Roxy.
