No question, for you it's a TB, and get a K&Q seat on it and you'll both be able to ride comfortable all day. Only get the Legend if you're vertically challenged.

They`re all good, you can`t make a bad choice from those 3 but as John says, go for the Thunderbird. It`s slightly heavier than the Bonneville but the motor`s a gem, a watercooled triple and the bike has a lot of quality touches like a hydraulic clutch, monoshock, hazard flashers etc etc. It`s a more comfortable distance bike than the Bonny.
The Leg-end is just a low budget Thunderbird with a slightly lower seat height, black engine and 2 x 17" wheels instead of the 16" rear and an 18" front that the T-birds have.

Well so far your first three replies have came from T-Bird owners. The envelope please. Thunderbird it's a really great motorcycle. You can't wrong with Legend or Bonnie either, but we're a little biased.

Black motors are cool. I'd go with the Legend!

Go ask the same question in the Twin Talk area - see what the % outcome is then.
Personally I like the TBs, but if they're so great then how come Triumph stopped making them and why isnt there much aftermarket support?

Well the official reply to why they stopped making them was that tooling had to be replaced and the marketing thrust for retro's was deemed to be the Bonnie which had a larger following in the US, by tradition.
Parts for the TB class, Adventurers and Legends are readily available, at least I've never had any problems, wear and tear parts are pretty common with other bikes in any case. Not many riders give up their TB's and those that do seem to miss them.
It all depends what suits you, looking at TwinVee2's request the TB to me was the bike for him, despite his monicker !

The 17" rims on the Legend give you a wider range of tyres to choose from.
As for the Lo-budget aspect of the Legend it simply means less chrome.

Wow what a reaction. If you read my post, you'll see that I said I'm biased.

From a non-Tbird owner, I'd say a TB Sport. It has the black engine and less chrome, and slightly more power than the standard TB. Besides, it a triple!
I wanted to buy an '03 orange & black one before I became endeared with the Tiger.
