Hide your on the right track. Cleaning the .45 and possibly a double barrel, along with a mention of how fond you are of your daughter. Furthermore pull the lad aside with a talk about your brief time in prison for clubbing someone with a bat. That should do the trick!

LOL, Hidesert!

Wonder if that works on a young male with a hot female near by.

You and your daughter will be fine. Trust in all you've loved and taught her for the 1st 15 years.

Well, we have crossed the Rubicon. She had a great time; her verdict was "it was an awesome first dance." Naturally, it warmed my heart to hear it, in keeping with Whisperin's wisdom about not being able to get a date being the worst possible outcome.

Her doting father weathered the experience quite well, bolstered by the bottle of Glenmorangie and the guy in the ghillie suit lurking in the shrubbery. Thanks, guys.

That reminds me; where are Mare and Bonniegirl and Jen and K8? I was hoping to hear from them on this!

Glad all went well HiD. I guess the girls stayed quiet because they thought it was all much ado about nothing

My wife was unervingly cool about it when both my daughters went on their first dates. Meanwhile I was truly stressed out...must be a Dad\daughter thing. Or is it that we know what teenage Boys are like, having been one in the long distant past Do the Mum's worry so much about their Son's first dates??

I come from a family of four boys, and my dad always interrogated us the same way upon returning from dates. The first question was "Did you kiss her?", and depending on the answer the follow-up question was either "how many times?" or "why not?"
