Have they done it again?

Honda, the company that brought us the CB750, the three-wheeler (which begat the quad runner), and the NSR750, has now introduced this:

It has a continuously variable transmission that can also be used in a manual transmission-like mode. They swear it's not a cruiser, not a scooter, and not a sportbike. More information is available from the Motorcycle Daily article here.

So, will it succeed? Will it spawn a host of imitators the way the CB750 and the first balloon-wheeled three wheeler did? Let's get bickering. I mean, discussing.

Looks like it's got an identity crisis going on ! Be funny if people started buying these, then started shortening the swing arm, go to a chain drive, even narrow the rake and raise the seat height. But then it might be just ideal for the fuel conscious family man, if it could be made to seat 5.

Not too surprising coming from someone named Superhawk! (I mean that in the nicest possible way.) Welcome to the forum! Start a new thread and tell us what you ride, where you ride it, ect!

Looks like a hundred other Battlestar Gallactica inspired cruisers to come out of Japan, over the last 25 years.
Apart from the transmission (which has been used in cars for years) I don't see anything goundbreaking about it. It hasn't even got USD forks!
& the forks it does have look way too flimsy for a bike that size (IMO)
However, being a Honda, it's probably as reliable as a Toyota Camry (& just as boring to ride) & will sell like the proverbials.

Kinda reminds me of a "Sport" minivan...

Looks very smooth.
Not as inspiring as some.
Much better than many others.

Not a home run, but a base hit.
