What to put in a tool kit?

I've been pondering what the perfect portable tool kit would contain as I prepare for long solo trips this summer. The tool kit will fit into a small bag then into a tail bag. To that end, I've started assembly tools. I went to Home Depot and bought an 8-piece folding star ket set, an 8-piece metric and 8-piece SAE folding hex key sets, 10" slip joint pliers, and a 7-piece metric stubby wrench set. I will add from my current collection a folding utility knife, a small Leatherman, a 1/2" ratchet and metric deep socket set, tire plug kit, a can of Fix-a-Flat, and Slime. Plus I have the tool pouch the bike came with. My question is...what else do I need? Suggestions are appreciated!

I bought one of these years ago.
I keep it in my magnetic tang bag that I swap between bikes.

Good quality stuff, and I can add some stuff when I want.

+1.
You just can't carry enough to cover everything. Better to travel light.
We were out the other day & a clutch cable broke. You could have been pulling a toolbox but without a spare cable you're stuck.

Let there be....

A flashlight!
Small, mag light type to illuminate the problem.
May not actually be able to fix it but then at least in the dark it's easier to find the cell phone and credit card!

You ride a modern triumph ... so why would you even think you would break down?

The only real problem is crashing, so i would recommend duct tape like Hidesert said, carry a mobile (cell) phone with a credit card. When was the last time you rebuilt your bike at the side of the road? Come on loose the negative vibes dude and leave the tools at home
