Msneedtx,

You had me absolutely 100% until I saw this ipod business. To each his own of course, but I suggest this is not good "advice" to someone asking about what protective gear to wear.

Proper Ear Plugs are a different story altogether, as if they are designed properly they only block harmful frequencies, they should NOT block out sound completely.

A new rider could be easily distracted if listenIng to an IPOD. Sure, maybe it's not against the law in certain states, but it is in some ("distracted driving"). For "experienced" riders, fine, you can make that personal choice. But for someone requesting safety advice?

IMHO, leave that paragraph out, and we have a very nice primer for safety gear. Great job!

Ipod/music safety

Okay. I can deal with criticism on that front. Maybe I should say " for destination rides" music is ok but for twisties where total concentration is in order the music should be replaced with earplugs.

That's the great thing about this forum. You get a straight and honest response without it being taken personal.. thanks for the feedback.

Regards,

I don't know about that; I can't think of any music that would distract me to a significant degree in serious curves. On the open, boring road, getting distracted and not paying attention is much more of a risk IMHO.
