Waving at other bikes...jeeps?

Most of the time I wave at other motorcycles on the road, or at least nod. I just got a jeep wrangler and have been checking out the forums at wranglerforum.com. Apparently, people in Jeeps are supposed to wave to each other as well. I don't know, even with the top and windows off, it seems kind of odd to wave from behind a windshield.

Cool

I like the idea. My wife and I, at times, find ourselves compelled to wave at motorcyclists even when we're in our cars. I can see waving from a jeep, if I had one, with the open air concept, feeling less "caged", etc. Part of the fun and sense of freedom of it all, I suppose.

Oh yeah the jeep wave is a huge deal! And it isn't for just the universial jeeps like the wrangler or CJ's. It goes for any Jeep brand vehicle or any of its ancestors (amc eagle or anything made by kiaser or willys ect).......you get the picture. BTW....Welcome to the international brotherhood of Jeepers. Jeeps Rock!

waving

waving is nice, but should really be limited to cars that are a little more rare. millions of jeeps, and you feel a little like you have just been waving at every bike coming to sturgis.
the Alfa Romeo I drive had only 35,000 or so imported from 69 to 95. so not as much exersize.

I don't wave at cars when I'm in my Jeep...... Jeeps aren't cars. Jeeps are Jeeps. Cars are cars.....

I certianly don't expect people to understand the jeepthing. That usually changes when they get a jeep and actually use it the way it was made to be used. I remember a few years ago wheeling with some willys and ford gpw ww2 jeeps and I was in awe how capable they were then I remembered the qoute "Jeeps won the WAR" That's enough to deserve a wave for all its variants through the years..

Way back when............I had an MGB (and hair), the sports car drivers used to wave to each other. I don't know if that still holds true or not, but I can understand why "Jeepsters" would do it.

Just the mindless musings of the "village idiot" at it again: Jim

Back when they were rare, wasn't it a tradition for BMWs to flash their lights at each other? I read that somewhere.

If you want to see Jeeps being used the way they were meant to, go visit Moab, Utah.
