Mesh or Textile for my trip

I am going on a trip in June, heading north to Oregon, Washington, British Columbia, Alberta, Montana, Idaho ...........In your opinion, should I take the lined textile gear (removeable liner) or the mesh We are talking June, my gut tells me the regular gear, but I just want to hear from those of you up north and your opinion

Thanks

That's easy. I took a lined textile armoured mesh jacket when I went up through the Canadian Rockies. I also took a flannel shirt and a sweatshirt to wear underneath. There were times it was over 100 degrees F and there were times it was in the upper 30's, which is rather cool at 60-70 mph. If you don't need it you can take it off, if you don't have it you're screwed. Also, STAY HYDRATED! Dehydration will affect your judgement, concentration and reaction time.

If you wore too much you can take some off. If you didn't wear enough you can't put more on.

IMHO regular gear. I can stand the heat, not the cold.

I'm facing the same decision for a tour of the Canadian Maritimes in July. I'm leaning towards armored mesh jacket (with zip-in water/windproof and thermal liners) and waterproof textile pants. I'll bring along a sweatshirt and a fleece vest in case it gets chilly.

I wear my regular gear on trips. Dress in layers, you can always take some off it it is too warm.
The mornings here in Montana are still pretty cool in June, plus it always seems to rain at some point.
I'd rather be hot or warm than cold or wet.
Regardless you should have a great ride and see some beautiful country.

Regular gear.
Or...
TourMaster Flex (2) Jacket.
I have the Flex. Now it's the Flex 2.

Textile, Armor including back, Quilted zip-out liner, seperate internal secondary water/wind proof independent liner, and outside also zips off to convert to a mesh jacket!

It's not a total winter jacket solution, but this is a nice outfit.

I have the gray and black.
Sizes on the Flex I have run a hair small, especially with all the liners.
They're for non-buldging riders I'd say.
I usually run without the quilted liner and opt for my Widder instead.
The rain liner can be worn seperately or with other jackets as well.
But it totally converts to Mesh with armor - that's the best for me. Cold in the AM and Hot in the PM, returning to cool in evening on local trips 'round here.
They are "protectively minimum priced," but shop around.
I scored an '06 model new for $139, early winter '06, anticipating an '07 Colorado Rockies ride last '07 July.

Easy Conversion to Armor Mess Link still with CE and pockets

Tourmaster

Thank you WaltZ

I got on the website and that looks like its just what I need. The price is reasonable seeing as it takes the place of two jackets.

I just ordered the Flex 2 at www.compacc.com $179.99 free shipping.
I have the Transition jacked for the colder weather but wanted a more versitile jacket for the summer months.
