Are Triumph owners Hardier

On Sunday I went and rode Snake Pass the weather was not great and in some stretches down to a few feet. Whilst there were a few bikes out I could not believe the proportion that were Triumphs

I saw
1 x Street Tripple (only the scond I have seen on the road)
1 x 955 Daytona
2 x Tridents
1 x 1050 sprint
2 x Tigers

Not all were on the A57 but in the surrounding area, any of you up riding in the area Sunday?

Does Snake Pass go over the Pennines to Buxton? I grew up close to the base of that road (Stockport) & it was one of my Dad's favourite rides on his '61 T'bird outfit. I remember it well, & fondly. Sure would be fun on a Street.
I saw my first Streety on the road (other than mine) the other day too. I think the May shipment must have arrived early. It was a black one, like mine, & I liked the look (& sound) of it, as it passed. But I felt a little pang of disgruntlement, when I realised that I was no longer the only Street in Cairns. Oh well, it was nice to be in an exclusive club of my own, for a short time. & my Maxton suspenders get here next week, so I'll soon have the best sorted Street in town.
PS I've got over 7000klms on my rear tyre, & it's only just down to the tread-indicators, with at least another 500-1000 klms left to go. Are you getting such terrific mileage out of your tyres? I'm certainly not trying to conserve mine. The only thing I don't do to them is burnouts!

Yes OS it's the A57 between Glossop and Shefield just north of Buxton, I'm still waiting for my Streety, was on the BMW riding out with a new rider who passed his test last November and brought a CBR600RR for his first bike. He never even had a learner bike

Yes it is my favourate ride it's a 150 mile round trip almost all on twisty roads through the peak park. Was a good ride but the weather on the pass kept the speed down, the Street was flying mind.

I'm not so sure I am anymore, it was 7c yesterday morning, a drop from 15c the day before, so I put my jersey on over my T-shirt under my jacket. Later on at 1030 it got to 21c and I regretted it.

To repeat a conversation I had with a bike mechanic at my first service.

"You ride a Triumph huh?"
"Yep".
"Why? From what I see, those Triumph riders are nuts. They think a day ride is to Canada and back."

Man, I loved hearing that. I knew I bought the right bike.

That ain't nuttin' see. Border and back before breakfast! True grit I must be.

[Minor irrelevant fact that detracts in no way from my grittiness: It's only 50 miles from my house to the border. The gritty part is my getting up an hour earlier. Now THAT is the stuff of men.]

I remember a pub at the top of the range, I think it was called The Cat & Fiddle. My Grandad used to drag all of us grandkids up there every Summer to pick dandelion & burdoch, for a cola-like drink he used to make. & we'd always end up at the pub, so Grandad could have a pint.
Funny, it's at least 45 years since I've heard of Snake Pass, yet I remember it like it was yesterday.
Thanks for unlocking the memories.
& I hope your Stripple gets here soon (your patience is commendable)

Wow ! Dandelion & Burdoch, never heard of that drink since I was a kid, only sold in UK I think and probably around Yorkshire where I first ever tasted it. Wonder if they still make it.

Probably too sweet for me now I don't like coke and cola's.

Hardy stuff though !
