Rider Training
I've booked into Alert Motorcycle School's "Advanced Roadcraft Day" on the 27th. Have any Perth riders done the course (or other courses)?
There doesn't seem to be many structured driver training courses in Western Australia other than private firms offering their own content.
Another company was offering a course I felt seemed to be race inspired where as I'm more interested in defensive training.
I will post my experience after the course. Looking forward to it.

Did the Alert Advanced Road Craft course yesterday. Had a great day. Course refreshed emergency braking, trail braking, cornering, road positioning.
Had about 15 other students which were broken into groups of four. So we got individual feedback.
We then headed to the country and concentrated on country driving such as winding roads, line of preference and reading the road and environment ahead. We stopped at Toodyay and had lunch at a cafe (included in course fee) and then hit the road again. We also took to Berry Road and surrounds where there are great twisties and passed the location where Peter Brock came to grief. (An Australian racing ICON).
Had the best time. Would recommend the course to new and experienced riders alike. Not a course if you want to be a racer, but anyone who enjoys riding will like it.
Hope this inspires others.
JD.
