I attended a course yesterday covering theory and practice of counter-steering and general cornering techniques as a result of which my steering and cornering is much more smooth, precise and relaxed.
I now have a new problem though.
We had some of the heaviest rain showers we've had here for months and despite the fact that the course is held on probably the grippiest surface in the world, the sight of all that rain and surface water is pretty intimidating when you're being invited to scrape your footpegs.

Being told to relax just didn't do it!
That problem was solved when one of the instructors told me to sing out loud while I was riding. It worked. I relaxed and it all started to flow as it should.
The problem is that I'm far too busy during normal riding reminding myself, out loud, what to look for, what to do at junctions, what's behind me, what the speed limit is and so on and I'm now struggling to alternate between singing and commentary.
It's a tough old life riding a bike.
