I wanna be Steve McQueen!

Come on! Who wouldn't? (Don't answer that!)

I'm trying to convince my GF that a belstaff trialmaster would make wonders to my riding proficiency (*cough*bull*cough*). As she is smart enough to read between my lines, I'll have to hit her with something else: the looks!

Do any of you guys own said jacket and could please post some pics? Thanks!

Sorry, I think that's impossible. May I offer up Alfred E. Newman as a consolation prize? Besides, as Alfred you might have an easier time convincing your GF that your needs/wants are justified.

I don't have a Trailmaster, but I do wear a Belstaff Spitfire jacket and also Belstaff gloves and rain gear.

It is top quality gear and will last for years.

Just look at how many old Trailmasters are for sale on Fleabay.

If you LOOK GOOD, you will FEEL GOOD and if you feel good you WILL ride better.

Buy one for safetys sake.

Check these out...

http://stores.ebay.co.uk/wonderful-market2007

Now, note that these are Nylon/polyester copies, not waxed cotton, but much cheaper. The photos are a little decieving. Also note that these would probably be OK for spring and Fall, but I'd be careful about winter wear. No, I haven't ordered from these guys, but I'm seriously thinking about it.

British Motorcycle Gear is the Belstaff distributor in the USA. I talked to these guys at the Chicago Cycle World Motorcycle Show this past February, and they said there are no more Trialmasters to be made. I have a Belstaff Mercury Jacket, and it's absolutely great. Fantastic quality, fit, very nice work. BMC is also very nice to deal with. The first jacket was a litle tight, so they sent me the next size bigger, before I even had a chance to return the first one. Rare in this day and age.

Lot's of the old waxed cotton ones on ebay, or try this canvas one as well:

Note that there is no protective armor in these jackets.

Drain, I had a Barbour jacket in the Seventies (almost identical to the Trialmaster). Sorry, but I don't think that waxed cotton has ever been cool.

In fact, I think it's perfectly terrible!

Dave.

No one can be Steve McQueen. Even "cool" can't be Steve McQueen.

I have the Barbour International and it really is a fine jacket, got it from royalmale.com for around $360.

I believe that a year ago Belstaff was bought by the fashion company Prada.

I am currently looking for a new outer jacket, my Belstaff (Drizabone version) is well worn and falling apart, and today I have bust the zip (again). Cannot remember it's age but it must be around 12 years old.

Best price I have found so far for a waxed cotton jacket is a Barbour at Silverman's;

http://www.silvermans.co.uk/Products...3/Default.aspx

As mentioned above, the cheap Hong Kong sourced stuff on eBay is nylon.

To complete the Barbour / Belstaff style you will also need a beard, a pipe and a Velocette.

I just saw that you were in Portugal so the royalmale.com might not be the best since they are in America, I check out Daveforty's site and those are good deals especially in yankee dollars.
